Through collage, flowers, and creative storytelling, With Love & Flowers: A Tribute to Detroit’s Black Matriarchs, presented by Black Bottom Archives, offers a hands-on, community-centered experience rooted in reflection and care.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, this gathering invites participants to honor Detroit’s Black Matriarchs while reflecting on the question: What does it look like to honor the Black women who built, nurtured, and fought for a better Detroit? Together, we will celebrate the caregivers—past and present—whose love, labor, and leadership continue to shape our lives, and explore Black womanhood through shared creativity and fellowship.
Included with museum admission.
Registration is through Black Bottom Archives. Paid or membership admission through the Detroit Historical Museum is also necessary.
