Anchor

One anchor from the U.S. Navy submarine, USS TAMBOR. The Baldt-style stockless anchor is made of cast iron or steel. It has two large flukes with a flat crown, an attached pivoting shank at the center, and a large shackle at the top of the shank. A small, oval-shaped hole is located near the tip of each fluke. Raised text on the underside of the crown reads "Navy Yard, Norfolk," and "1937, U.S. Navy." The entire anchor is finished with a flat, white paint.
