1911 Model T Ford Touring Car

1911 Model T Ford Touring Car. It features a 20 horsepower, 4-cylinder engine, and a planetary gear system. Three pedals on the floor, from left to right, gear shift, reverse, and brake; throttle is on the column. The soft canvas top is retractable, and windshield folds in half. The exterior is painted dark green with brass trim, the spokes of the wheels are also dark green, and the rubber is cream-colored. There is one two-person seat upholstered in black leather.

It belonged to Perry Andrews who offered it to his son-in-law in 1923. The son-in-law angered Andrews when he announced his plans to turn the car into a hot-rod. In retaliation, Andrews buried the car in a field. In 1966, WJR Detroit radio star Bud Guest heard about the car and organized "The Big Dig." The car was located, gradually restored and now is in very good condition. Gift of The Big Dig in 1982.
