1942 Packard Custom 8 Convertible
Automobile, 1942 Packard convertible. This coupe was part of the Packard Custom 8 Series. It was one of the last cars made before the Packard factory converted to World War II production. The exterior is painted navy blue with a cream-colored retractable roof. The seats are black leather. Under the hood, there is a 282-cid L-head straight-eight engine with an oil filter, a selective synchro-meshed three-speed on the column with overdrive and a 4.36 rear axle. It was standard for this model to have turn signals, ivory steering wheel, automatic courtesy lights, electric clock and automatic cigarette lighter. The car also has a 127-inch wheelbase, Senior One-Sixty bumpers, grille guards, door handles and disk wheel covers.
