Bank, Mechanical

One mechanical coin bank from First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Detroit. The bank is circular in shape and is made of stamped steel that has been painted pale pink on top and pale purple on the base. Painted gold-colored text on the top surface shows the bank name along with addresses of branch locations. After a coin is inserted into a slot on the side, a sliding lever updates a counter on the top which shows the total monetary value of the coins in the bank. On the underside, a small hinged door with a key lock allows the bank to be emptied. Stamped text on the underside shows "Add-O-Bank" as well as the manufacturer's name, "Steel Products Corps of California, 915 Linden Ave., South San Francisco, U.S.A.," and gives directions for operation. A stamped metal key is included.
