Bank, Toy

One souvenir bank from the "Oesterle & Honer" men's clothing store in downtown Detroit. The pocket-size, oval-shaped bank is made of thin stamped steel back with rounded edges. The top panel has a pale yellow celluloid covering which is printed with a multi-color halftone image of a tailor who is holding a large pair of trousers. Adjacent black printed text reads "Who's Your Tailor?" and "E. V. Price & Co." Additional small black printed text reads "Registered in U.S. 'Pat. Off. 1908 by Ed. V. Price & Co." The bottom panel of the bank has a similar celluloid paper covering which has a gold-colored border and black printed text that reads "Take Me to Oesterle & Honer, 412 Gratiot Avenue," and "Your Money Has Greater Power With Us" as well as "Exclusive Dealer" and "Stronghart Co., Chicago., Pat." The side of the bank is made of a piece of thin chrome-plated steel that has a quarter-size cutout slot on one of the long sides.
