Belt

Spanner belt. Leather firefighter's spanner belt. Black with white trim, and a white insert with dagger-shaped ends set into the middle of the belt into which "foreman" is spelled in red block letters against a white tooled background. A brass tag to the right of the insert reads, "Cairns & Bro. 143 Grand St. N.Y. On the belts far left side, a rivet holds a small piece of leather that presumably was part of a means to fasten it. Belonged to volunteer firefighter Jeremiah Dwyer.
