Block, Hat

One hat block for a size 6 5/8 hat. The block is made from three thick planks of fine-grained wood that have been glued together and rounded/shaped on top to the required size. The block has a flat base and a large circular area on the underside has been milled out. A 7/8-inch diameter hole has been bored at the bottom center so that the block can be mounted on a support post. The exterior surface has been finished with a light brown stain and a coat of clear lacquer or varnish. An embossed metal tag near the lower edge of the block reads "6 5/8." Stamped text on the underside edge reads "6 5/8 Base." No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
