Block, Paving

One group of ten wooden paving blocks that were used for pavement construction on Cass Avenue near Forest in Detroit. The blocks are made of wood that have been cut into brick-size pieces and treated with a creosote preservative. The blocks were set in a sand base and fitted together in order to create a paved roadway surface.
