Bust

One small plaster bust of Weston Gales, who was the music director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 1914 to 1917. The bust shows a head and shoulders, front view of the subject as a middle-aged man. He is wearing a shirt, tie, vest, and suit jacket. The bust is finished with a spray enamel metallic bronze paint. The sculptor, Joel Stone, has inscribed his name, "J. Stone, 1985, Gales," on the underside of the bust which is mounted on a vertical 1-inch diameter aluminum tube handle that has a bronze finish. Adjacent handwritten pen text shows the name, "Gales."
