Bust

One small plaster bust of Franco Ghione, who was the music director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 1936 to 1940. The bust shows a head and shoulders, front view of the subject as a middle-aged man. He has a receding hairline and is wearing a shirt, a tie, and a suit jacket with a wide collar. The bust is finished with a spray enamel metallic bronze paint. The sculptor, Joel Stone, has inscribed his name, "J. Stone, 1985, Ghione," on the underside of the bust which is mounted on a vertical 1-inch diameter aluminum tube handle that has a bronze finish. Adjacent handwritten pen text shows the name, "Ghione."
