Bust
One small plaster bust of Paul Freeman, who was the Youth Orchestra director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 1970 to 1979. The bust shows a head and shoulders, front view of the subject as a middle-aged, African-American man. He is wearing a tuxedo shirt with a bowtie and jacket. The bust is finished with a spray enamel metallic bronze paint. The sculptor, Joel Stone, has inscribed his name, "Stone, 1985, Freeman," on the underside of the bust which is mounted on a vertical 1-inch diameter aluminum tube handle that has a bronze finish. Adjacent handwritten pen text shows the name, "Freeman."
