Calendar

One calendar from the Adamant Manufacturing Company of Detroit. The pocket-size, booklet-style, promotional giveaway calendar has a pale yellow celluloid plastic cover that shows a red/white/blue image of the American flag on the front along with a small image of a pyramid and camel caravan and black printed text that reads "Compliments of Adamnat Mfg. Co., Manufacturers of Adamant, The Perfection of Wall Plaster." A color image of an eagle and American flag are shown on the back cover along with a head and shoulders image of a young woman and black printed text that reads "A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Adamant is hard, non-porous, durable, no chips, cracks or pops - in consequence it is always beautiful." The calendar contains approximately 90 pages of green printed text on white paper that show months, days, and numerical dates for the year of 1900. Three blank lines are provided for notes for each day. The front pages include blank lines for personal information such as name, address, and clothing sizes. Also included is general information on Weather Bureau flag signal meanings, postage rates, interest rates, population statistics, and the names of past U.S. Presidents. Other miscellaneous information is shown on the back pages. Several newspaper clippings concerning Detroit architect, John Lawson Miller, were pasted on various pages.
