Cannon
One British 4-pounder cast iron cannon. The cannon has a slightly tapered barrel with four reinforcing bands and trunnions located near the middle. The top of the barrel is embossed with the crest of King George II, who reigned from 1727-1760, and is also marked with the letters "P" (indicating approval from a civilian board), "X" (failure mark from the military ordnance board), and "M" (for Mangles, the cannon seller). Also, the letter, "H," is located on the right trunnion and indicates the name of the manufacturer, Hamsell Furnaces of East Sussex, England.
