Cap
One cap worn by a marine deck officer. The cap is similar is styling to a Greek fisherman's cap. It has a dark navy blue or black wool top, a black headband with a gold-colored strap across the front, and a black vinyl visor. The strap ends are attached at chrome-plated steel buttons that are located on the left and right sides of the cap. Two grommeted vent holes are located on each side of the wool top just above the steel buttons. The front of the cap has an embroidered "W" emblem of the Wilson Marine Transit Company. The word, "Captain," is shown in gold-colored embroidered text beneath the emblem. The inside top has a black cotton lining with the remnants of a manufacturer's label that has worn away and is not readable.
