Car, Pedal

One child's pedal car that resembles an early 1920's 2-door Packard sedan automobile. It has a steel and wood frame, wood frame doors, a sheet metal body, running boards, rear spring suspension, black vinyl top, a small trunk with hinged lid, clear plastic and glass windows, a silver-colored hood ornament, a white front grill with silver "Packard" script logo, and wire spoke wheels with inflatable rubber tires. Interior features include a padded black vinyl seat, charcoal gray fabric lining on the sides and top, matching fabric curtains in the rear window, a dashboard with painted gauges, a steering wheel, and pedals. The manufacturer's name, "The American National Company, Toledo, Ohio," is shown on the dashboard as well as on the steering wheel which has raised text that reads "American," and "The American National Co., Toledo, Ohio." The body and wood door frames are painted black. The front and rear bumpers, head lights, and side lights are chrome-plated. Inset cane panels are located on the doors and on the back above the trunk lid. A small license plate on the front has text that reads "WN27R, N.53J." An engraved brass plaque on the back has text that reads "Alemite, High Pressure Lubricating System" (possibly the name of the company that performed restoration work on the car).
