Carving

One hand carved wooden figure of a Pied-Billed Grebe. The carving is made of a lightweight, medium-grained wood and shows detailed sculpting and shaping. It has a small, round body and has been finished with blue/gray/white paint. Its eyes are made of small circular red plastic discs with black centers and a convex outer surface and have been attached on each side of the head. The maker has signed an inscription, "To the Spragues with Much Love!! Joy, 1988," and her name, "Joy Yax," on the underside.
