One silver French 1/2 ecu coin. The obverse shows a bust of King Louis XIV wearing a laurel wreath crown on his head. The Latin inscription, "LVD XIIII D G" [Louis XIV by the Grace of God] and "FR ET NAV REX" [King of France] are shown along the perimeter just inside a reeded border. (Note that the Roman numeral for fourteen is shown on the obverse as XIIII instead of XIV.) The reverse shows a coat of arms consisting of a shield with three fleurs-des-lis and a crown on top. The Latin inscription "SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM 1652" [Blessed Is the Name of the Lord 1652] is shown along the perimeter just inside a reeded border.
