Compact

One souvenir compact from the Ford Rotunda in Dearborn, MI. The small, pocket-size, circular compact is made of stamped steel. It has slightly curved top and bottom surfaces, a hinged top with a friction-type closure clip, a decorative gold-colored filigree design along the outer edge of the lid, and a matching silver-colored filigree design along the outer edge of the compact. The top surface of the lid has a multi-color illustration of the Rotunda that has a protective clear plastic covering. Small black printed text across the top of the image reads "Ford Rotunda, Dearborn, Michigan." A mirror is mounted on the inside surface of the lid. The inside bottom has a removable fine mesh screen cover that is intended to prevent the underlying powder from spilling or blowing away when the lid is opened. Small stamped text on the lower inside edge of the lid reads "Made in U.S.A." The bottom surface of the compact is finished with a coat of glossy pale yellow paint.
