Cup, Demitasse
One souvenir demitasse cup from the Canadian ship lock at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The footed cup is made of white glazed china. It has a large egg-shaped body with four evenly-spaced vertical indentations on the sides along with decorative raised scrollwork designs. It also has four small curved feet and a small decorative scrollwork handle on the side. Gold-colored paint is used for decorative stripes on the handle and feet, the top edge, and floral designs on the sides. An oval-shaped engraved drawing of a ship in a lock is printed on the side of the cup opposite the handle. Black text beneath the image reads "Canadian Ship Canal, Sault Ste. Marie." No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
