Decoy
One hand carved wooden duck decoy. The decoy is made of balsa wood with minimal carving and shaping. It has been finished with black/white/gray paint and depicts a duck of the Greater Scaup species. Its eyes are made of small circular pale yellow plastic discs with black centers and a convex outer surface and have been attached on each side of the head. A small, circular, dome-shaped piece of lead is attached to the center underside to add weight for ballast. One steel screw eye is attached to the front underside. A 64-inch long tan cord is tied to the screw eye and a dome-shaped lead weight with a steel loop is tied to the other end of the cord. Handwritten text on the decoy underside reads "Carved 1935 by Roland "Red" Sprague."
