Display, on board, "Presented to the People of the City of Detroit with sincere best wishes from the Crew of Apollo XVII January 25, 1973." The display features an American flag patch, an Apollo XVII patch, and a photographic print of an astronaut on the moon. Text at the top reads "These emblems carried to the moon aboard the spaceship America Apollo XVII 6-19 December 1972." The display is signed by three Apollo XVII astronauts, Eugene A. Cernan, Ronald E. Evans, and Harrison H. Schmitt, at bottom right.
