Dress

One lady's dinner gown. The one-piece dress is made of tan silk with elaborate gold-colored lace and trim. It has a scoop neckline, elbow-length sleeves, and a high waistline with a 3-inch wide band of black velvet and gold-colored lace. A large silk rosette is located at the left front waist. Hook/eye closures are located down the center back. The neckline is trimmed with large jet beads, gold-colored lace with an underlay of gold silk, green and gold metallic narrow trim, and gold bugle beads. Black velvet ribbon is used for trim around the sleeves and around the waist where it trails down back left side. The lower portions of the sleeves are trimmed with gold-colored metallic lace. Black velvet and gold-colored silk fabric are used for trim at hem of the skirt. The dress is completely lined in white and yellow silk. Label: McGlogan, Detroit.
