Ensemble

One woman's black coat and dress ensemble.
a. The 3/4 length coat is made of a black wool fabric that has been woven in a faint square pattern. It has a high collar with black fur, deep cuffs with fur trim, a black crepe lining, three buttons down the center front, and two buttons at collar. The coat has a loose fit with limited tailoring. A diamond-shaped, embroidered label on the inside back shows "P. N. Degerberg, Ladies Tailor, Philadelphia."
b. The loose-fitting dress it made of black crepe and wool. It has a square collar with a deep "V" in front, a black crepe panel beneath, gathered shoulders, and long sleeves with gathered cuffs. The top edge of the crepe panel, "V" collar edge, and cuffs are all trimmed with an embroidered gray patterned band. The gathered and pleated skirt matches the wool fabric of the coat. A detachable black belt emphasizes the dropped waist. A label on the inside side seam of the skirt shows "P.N. Degerberg, 1621 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia" and "Mrs. Samuel Bancroft, 10-2-1926."
