One metalworking file. The narrow rectangular file is made of steel. It has diagonally cut patterns on the sides and edges to create an abrasive surface. The base of the file tapers to a blunt point to allow for insertion into a wooden handle. Stamped text on the base shows "New Cut." The name, "Hayes File Co., Since 1870," is stamped on one side near the base.
