Fixture, Lighting

One fluorescent light fixture from one of the women's dressing rooms (5th, 6th, 7th floors) in the downtown Detroit Hudson's store. The narrow fixture has an Art-Deco style with chrome-plated, tapered blunt ends and a curved decorative opaque glass cover across the middle section. The glass cover is secured to the end sections with round, chrome-plated thumbscrews. An electrical outlet (2-prong) in one of the chrome-plated end sections. A single fluorescent light tube is secured to the end sections beneath the glass cover. The end sections are attached to a metal backing plate that is painted white and contains electrical wires. A large center bolt and tightening nut are located on the back surface of the metal plate to allow for attachment to a wall.
