Flag
One commemorative flag from the International Tugboat Race on the Detroit River that also celebrates the coronation year of Queen Elizabeth II. The swallowtail style flag is made of lightweight navy blue cotton or wool fabric. Yellow text is printed on the left side of the flag that reads "Coronation Year" with a crown emblem. White text is printed on the right side that reads "International Tug Boat Race, Windsor, Ontario, 1953." The hoist edge is reinforced with a double layer strip of white canvas. Brass grommets are located at the top and bottom ends of the reinforcing strip. The top, bottom, and outer edges of the flag are all sewn with a double-stitched rolled hem in order to minimize tears and fabric fraying. No manufacturer's label is shown.
