Flag

One "Press" identification flag from the International Tugboat Race on the Detroit River. The swallowtail style flag is made of lightweight white cotton or wool fabric. Black stencil text is printed on one side of the flag that reads "Press." The hoist edge is reinforced with a double layer strip of white canvas. Brass grommets are located at the top and bottom ends of the reinforcing strip. The top, bottom, and outer edges of the flag are all sewn with a double-stitched rolled hem in order to minimize tears and fabric fraying. A black ink stamp on the hoist reinforcing strip reads "Dominion Tent and Awning Co., Ltd., Sailmaking, 228 Sandwich St. W., Phone 4-4881 Windsor."
