Game, Board

Game entitled "MILITAIRE." The game board is a flat, framed piece with peg holes in concentric circles divided by lines. Each corner features images of military opponents, Sherman, Grant, Lee, and Johnston. In the center of the circles is an illustration of naval warfare. Text on either end of the board reads "MILITAIRE / MANUFACTURED BY G.F. NEWLAND, DETROIT, Mich. / Patented Dec. 3rd, 1889," The game is made for two players, as the premise of it is two armies fighting against one another. Each army is composed of six regiments commanded by a general. Each regiment is represented by a colonel and five soldiers. The various game pieces can only be moved in specific ways. Included with the board and red and blue game pegs/holders, is a set of instructions with a diagram.
