Hat

One peaked hat worn by a Railway Express Agency worker. The hat has a dark brown twill fabric top, a brown twill headband with a black leather strap across the front, and a black vinyl visor. The strap ends are attached at diamond-shaped brass buttons that are located on the left and right sides of the hat. The front of the hat has a decorative red/silver metal badge that shows the Railway Express Agency emblem and badge number "62897." The hat interior has a black cloth lining and a small pocket at the front top. Also on the inside top, a label with a clear plastic cover shows "Eastern Uniform Cap Mfg. Co., 230 South Hamlin St., Chicago, Ill., Rainproof."
