Hat

One J. L. Hudson Company deliveryman's uniform hat. The peaked hat has a green fabric top, a black fabric headband with a black vinyl strap across the front, and a black vinyl visor. The strap ends are attached at brass buttons that are located on the left and right sides of the hat. Two metal grommet vents are located in the green fabric above the brass buttons. The front of the hat has a decorative embroidered "H" emblem of the J. L. Hudson Company. A clear plastic label on the inside top of the hat reads "Uniforms, Caleb V. Smith & Son, 132-10 89th Ave., Richmond Hill, N.Y. 11418." A small union label is also sewn at the edge of the manufacturer's label. An oval-shaped adhesive label shows size "7 1/8." The hat has a black fabric lining and a brown vinyl headband on the inside.
