Hat

One peaked hat worn by a marine deck officer. The hat (size 6 7/8) has a white cloth top, a black headband with adjustable gold-colored cords across the front, and a black vinyl visor with applied gold-colored oak leaves. The cord ends are attached at brass buttons that are located on the left and right sides of the hat. The front of the hat has a decorative embroidered emblem that shows the letter, "W" of the Wilson Marine Transit Company inside a circle of stars. The word, "Commodore," is shown in gold-colored embroidered text beneath the emblem. A clear plastic label on the inside top of the hat shows "Bancroft Military Caps - Makers of Fine Caps for Over 50 Years, Framingham, Massachusetts." The adjacent identification tag is blank.
