Indicator, Floor

One floor indicator light fixture from an elevator on the 12th floor of the Woodward Avenue side of the J. L. Hudson Company store in downtown Detroit. The fixture has a rectangular brass base with a brushed exterior finish and dark green peeling paint. Two wedge-shaped pieces of opaque glass with a brushed finish extend outward from the base and are mounted between brass supports. Thin squares of colored glass are mounted at the base of each glass wedge (red on one and green on the other) and are concealed beneath the brass base. Presumably, electric bulbs, sockets, and wiring would have been concealed in the wall beneath the brass base since none of these items are included with the base.
