Iron
Flatiron, charcoal-heated. Has deep base with one broad end and grating inside. Has top with wooden handle and prongs fitting under bar in base. Disk at back of base used for controlling draft. Hinged catch at top to fasten on cover. Marked on top of iron below handle: "The Electro Carbon Iron, Pat. Pend. 1911."
