Jack

Miniature "Jack in a Box" screw jack. Base is painted green and top is black. Vertical raised text on the side of base reads "Simplex" with "Ball Bearing" shown below in smaller letters. Comes in original red/white cardboard box with black lettering that reads "Jack in a Box, A Miniature, Simplex Screw Jack, Capacity 500 lbs." and "Height when closed 3", Extended height 4 1/2, Lever Bar enclosed." One side panel shows a color image of the jack. Back panel has an image at the top of a boy using the jack to hold up front end of a car. An image at the bottom show a man using the jack to hold a drawer in place. Adjacent printed text reads "This miniature Simplex Screw Jack is a good tool for the Boy in Manual Training, or for the little chap who has mechanical toys. For Dad, it's a tool for cabinet work -- repairing furniture -- straightening doors or window frames -- adjusting water pipe and radiators -- stretching Mother's shoes and innumerable uses." Additional printed text reads "The Simplex ball bearing Screw Jack demonstrates the only practical and permanent improvements made on Screw Jacks during the past 100 yrs. Top and Bottom of box contain more printed information. Also included is a lever bar made of green metal with knob at one end.
