Jacket, Life

One child's life jacket. The vest-style jacket is made of red cotton canvas with four vertical rectangular sewn pockets around the body that contain kapok for flotation. The jacket has two white canvas straps on each side and two long ties which would pass beneath the child's legs and attach to metal buckles on the lower front edge. A label on the jacket inside reads "Style Craft, Aqua-Float, Life Saving Vest," and "This Marine Safety Product is Liberally Filled with the Highest Quality New Kapok Conforming to U.S. Coast Guard Standards." An "Instructions" section of printed text is also shown. The jacket was "Manufactured by Style-Crafters, Inc., Greenville, South Carolina."
