One adult life jacket from the passenger steamer, PUT-IN-BAY. The vest-style jacket is made of white cotton canvas with vertical rectangular sewn closed pockets around the body which contain brick-like blocks of cork for flotation. The jacket has open arm holes and white canvas tie straps at the neck and midpoint for securing the jacket around the wearer. Black ink stamped on the back reads "PUT-IN-BAY." Black ink stamped on the front reads "Approved United States Coast Guard, Jun 27, 1946, ----- New York, N.Y." Additional stamped text reads "Adult, Atlantic - Pacific Corp., 124-130 Atlantic Ave Brooklyn, 2 N.Y."
