One framed commemorative medal from the Detroit 250th Anniversary celebration in 1951. The circular bronze medal has a relief image that depicts the downtown Detroit Civic Center and adjacent buildings. A small inset image at the left shows "Old Fort Pontchartrain, 1701." Text along the medal perimeter reads "Detroit's 250th Birthday Festival, 1951," and "Past - Present - Future." The medal is mounted on a red velvet matte under protective glass and is held in a decorative wood frame. The wood frame has been stained brown and has a semi-gloss lacquer or varnish finish.
