1 - Commemorative medal worn by United Spanish War Veteran (USWV), Joseph Hoffman. The medal has a rectangular brass top with a decorative border and a paper name tag insert with handwritten text: "J. Hoffman", a brass cross medal hangs beneath from a silk ribbon which has red and yellow vertical stripes and gold lettering: "Delegate 35th Annual Encampment Dept. of Michigan U.S.W.V. Grand Rapids June 12-15, 1938", the medal has embossed text: "Philippine Islands Cuba Porto Rico U.S.A." and "United Spanish War Veterans, 1898-1902." The back of the medal is blank and no manufacturer's name is shown.
