Working Patent Model: of railroad coupling; almost all wood except for metal trigger in vertical moving section; vertical unit drops into lock position automatically when coupling unit enters and depresses trigger; to open vertical unit is raised by a chain which would pass through a fitting above on the end of the railroad car and to the side so that it may be opened without anyone actually getting between the cars; when raised, the gravity operated trigger repositions the lock united in the open position ready to be automatically closed again; model is contoured to actual shape of real coupling.
