Model
One scale model of the sidewheel passenger steamship, Tashmoo. The hull and cabin structures are made of wood and are painted white with the ship name shown in red text on the sides. Decks are painted light gray. Cabin door details and the main deck rub rail are painted black. Handrails and lifeboat covers are painted in a mustard color. The model is mounted on a large, rectangular oak wood base which has a decorative routered edge and slot for a clear plexiglass display cover. The oak base has been stained dark brown and finished with a clear lacquer or varnish. A descriptive nameplate is mounted at the front right corner of the base and shows "TASHMOO. Passenger Day Boat between Port Huron & Detroit. 312 Ft. Lg. Capacity 2800 Passengers. Built at Wyandotte, Mich., 1889. Sank at Amherstburg, Canada, 1936. Model Built by Harry Carle, 1989.
