Motorboat

One outboard motorboat made by Clyde Boat Works of Detroit. The 17-foot long runabout was made of mahogany plywood. It has a small foredeck and an open cockpit in the back. One bench-type seat with a red vinyl seat cushion and backrest is located forward for the driver and a passenger. A steering wheel and controls are located on the starboard side. A second bench-type seat with a red vinyl seat cushion and backrest is located at the back of the cockpit just forward of the motor compartment. The cockpit floorboards are made of light-colored wood. The hull interior, exterior, and floorboards are all finished with a high-gloss marine spar varnish or polyurethane. A manufacturer's decal that reads "Clyde" in blue text with a blue/white image of a seagull is located on the exterior port and starboard sides of the hull in the area of the forward seat. A chrome-plated metal handle is located on the foredeck at the stem and also one on each side of the transom. The Canadian vessel license number, "55E5719," is shown in black lettering on each side of the hull at the bow. Boat accessories include a removable swim ladder, a small anchor with approximately 25 feet of 0.5-inch diameter manila rope, one wooden paddle, and a silver/gray nylon cover. The outboard motor and trailer are accessioned separately as 2018.106.002 and 2018.106.003, respectively.
