Three small buildings stand on the strip of American land extending from the right edge of frame. The painting is mounted within a paperboard frame. "No. 12 Churches, Mouth of St. Mary looking down in Lake George. In front, and on left, Canada side, to the right, American." is handwritten on the verso.
