One oil on canvas painting: "Taking the Guns." The painting depicts a World War I battle scene, with lots of action and movement. An explosion on left has killed one horse and a wounded horse has reared up to throw his rider. Two soldiers can be seen at the center front and two more lie on ground. A soldier on the right is pushing the wheel spokes of a gun carriage while another soldier works with the gun's team of horses. Lettering along the lower center edge reads "Taking the Guns." The artist has signed his name in the lower left corner, "H. H. Bennett, 1919." The painting is held in a darkened gilt frame.
