OWEGO
One watercolor painting of the steamship, OWEGO. The painting shows a starboard side view of the ship which is underway in fair weather. The ship has a black hull, a white top deck, and a black smokestack that has horizontal white stripes with the word, "Erie," painted on them. Black smoke is pouring out of smokestack and fading into the sky. A treed shoreline is visible in the background. The artist has signed his name, "Edward J. Dowling, 1948," at the lower left corner. The painting is held in a light brown wood frame with a white matte border and protective glass.
