Pennant
One World Champions baseball pennant won by the Detroit Tigers in 1935. The large triangular swallowtail pennant is made of heavyweight red/blue/white cotton fabric. The center field is dark blue with a red band sewn along the perimeter. White fabric letters, 28-inch high, are sewn across the blue field and read "World Champions, 1935, Detroit Tigers." The hoist edge is reinforced with white canvas tape and includes a length of rope that is sewn inside the tape. Small loops are located at each end of the rope for attachment to a flagpole halyard. A manufacturer's label on the hoist edge reads "Geo. B. Carpenter & Co., 440 N. Wells St., Chicago," and "Tents, Awnings, Flags, Terrace & Lawn Furniture."
