One award plaque "Presented to Capt. Morgan L. Howell, M.M.N.A., with appreciation for your support of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Training Vessel, Pride of Michigan." The plaque text is shown in black on a sheet of plastic which has a brushed brass finish. A black and gold-colored photographic image of the training vessel is shown at the bottom. The plastic sheet is mounted on a rectangular piece of maple wood that has a light brown stain and a lacquer or varnish finish.
