Plate, Bread
One sample/test plate (bread plate size) that was made by an unknown manufacturer. The round plate is made of white glazed china. It has a flat, slightly-upturned rim and the top surface is stamped with the multi-color logos/emblems/flags of nine steamship companies. Two yacht pennants, "Firelands" and "Pinafore," are also shown. Some of the notable steamship companies include: D&C [Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company], C&B Line [Cleveland & Buffalo Transit Company], and Standard Oil. The underside is stamped with small handwritten green numbers which identify designs and color codes for the corresponding logo images that are stamped on the top surface. No manufacturer's names or marks are shown on the plate.
