One bread plate from a passenger ferry or shoreside terminal of the Detroit & Windsor Ferry Company. The round plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has a flat, upturned rim with a thickened outer edge, a narrow blue stripe along the outer edge, and a very narrow yellow stripe along the inner edge. A small, blue, shield-shaped company emblem is stamped on the rim between the stripes. The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Vitrified, Wood & Sons, England" and "Supplied by Cassidy's Limited."
