Plate, Commemorative

One commemorative plate that features the towboat, Homestead, of the United States Steel (USS) Corporation river fleet. The round plate is made of glazed white china plate and has a curved rim. A narrow black stripe encircles the plate along the midpoint of the rim and a circular "USS" logo is printed at the top. A large black and white, pen and ink style sketch is printed at the center of the plate and shows a starboard side view of the towboat which is underway on a river with a barge load of coal. Black printed text on the underside of the plate reads "Swing Ware" as well as "Ovenproof, Chip Resistant," and "Created by Wellsville China, Wellsville, Ohio." Additional gold-colored text reads "R-K Distributors, Box 285, Bewickley, PA."
